Instructors use the same tool to create quizzes and surveys.  Quizzes can be graded or ungraded (self-assessment, in which case the grade is not recorded in the grade book); and, while there are no right or wrong answers in a survey, an instructor can elect to award students points in the grade book for completion.  Quizzes and surveys can be made up of a variety of question types (multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, calculated, short answer, essay, etc.). Instructors determine such criteria as duration, number of attempts, randomization of questions.  Click on the PDF image to view the documentation on the basics of interacting with the quiz tool.
