What is Database Finder?

Database Finder Links to an external site. is the name of the access point of more than 300 databases that the Libraries subscribe to.  Students, faculty, and staff are able to access these resources for free!

  • Search for articles, and other items in databases and e-journals.

Using Database Finder

To log in from off-campus:

  • Choose your campus affiliation: e.g., University of Maryland, College Park.
  • Enter your directory ID and password.
  • Click Login.

Finding Journal Titles

Use Journal Finder Links to an external site. to locate journal titles or use UMD Libraries catalog Links to an external site.. If the journal title doesn't show up in the first results, sort the results by Relevance Only.

Finding a Specific Article
 

Use Citation Finder Links to an external site. to find full text article, if you have citation information for a specific article.

Tip: For faster results in identifying full-text of an article:

  1. Use GoogleScholar Links to an external site..
  2. Type in the article title and author's last name.
  3. Identify the article in the results lists.
  4. Click on Find @ UMD link and follow the prompts. (If you don't see this link, make sure your GoogleScholar Links to an external site. settings display UMD in the list - Go to Settings on the upper right corner of GoogleScholar Links to an external site.. Then, click on Library Links on the left side menu. Type in College Park in the search box and check the box.)
