Module 1, section 7 (Attribution, Citation, Plagiarism and Scholarship) explained why it is important to cite and give credit to authors whose ideas and words you have used to advance your argument. Citing those sources helps others, and you, to find those sources later for verification and for a broader understanding of the relevant contexts and perspectives. These citations advance the research agenda by helping others to learn from those who influenced you. Importantly, citing your sources also helps you to avoid charges of plagiarism.
This section will connect you to resources that will explain and show you how to properly create and format citations.
