New Student Checklist
Below are highlighted items which your student must take care of before the fall semester begins:
1. AP / IB Exam Scores and Transfer Credits: Students who have taken AP or IB exams, must make sure to have their scores sent to UMD. Students who took courses at another two- or four-year institution must arrange for that institution to provide UMD with transfer credit information. Students may check their transcript online at www.testudo.umd.edu Links to an external site. to see if the scores and/or transfer credits have posted to their student record.
2. All new students need to make sure their email is accurate and up to date with the university. They can check their current address & email at www.testudo.umd.edu Links to an external site. and go to "Change Address/E-mail)
3. Wellness Training: All students are required to participate in Wellness Training related to AlcoholEdu, Prescription Drug Abuse, and Sexual Assault. UMD takes alcohol and drug abuse seriously. Each incoming student must complete the Wellness Trainings, online courses. Failure to complete these courses results in a registration block on the student’s record. 4. UMD Medical History and Immunization Record: Every new student must complete the UMD Medical History and Immunization Record and submit it directly to the University Health Center. Failure to submit this form will result in a registration block on the student's record. You can find out more information about the Immunization form by visiting www.health.umd.edu/immunizations. 5. Health Insurance: All newly admitted freshmen registered for 6 or more credits are required to have health insurance. Each student should have received an e-mail about this from the Health Center. EVERY student must go online to https://health.umd.edu/insurance-and-billing/health-insurance-waiver

a. Complete a waiver because you have insurance and wish to waive the University-sponsored plan;
or
b. Purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan(SHIP) sponsored by UMD.
