Final Project Primary Research Rationale Peer Review instructions
For each set of rationales/questions submitted by your partner, please answer the following questions in detail.
I. Primary Research Plan and Questions (Set 1)
1.What are the intentions of the researcher in conducting their primary research? What goals does the researcher have for this process? How do these intentions/goals differ from those specified in their first description?
2.What do they want to know? Look online for the knowledge they seek to discover with their primary research. Can you find information elsewhere that provides that knowledge? If so, please provide links.
3.What research method will the researcher employ (i.e. survey, interview, usability testing)? Given your knowledge of the circumstances in which each research method is applicable, how do the specified methods align with the goals of the researcher? To review those circumstances, refer back toUnderstanding Primary Research (Links to an external site.).
4.Who will the researcher survey, interview, or test? Is their research method appropriate for their target population? Given the research method, is the size of the target population too small, too large, or just right? Explain your opinions.
5.Does the survey or interview begin with an introductory statement of purpose directed at the target population (this is not the same as the Description of Primary Research Plans; this is a separate statement addressed to the subjects of the interview or survey)? Pretend you are a member of the target population. Would you be comfortable completing the survey or interview without such a statement? Would you feel confused/lost/disoriented? Explain your opinions.
