Please note that most links are inactive in this course preview.
Welcome!
Thank you for enrolling in the General Forestry Course. You are about to embark on an educational experience that will benefit you and your woodland. In this course you will be provided the tools to more effectively manage your woodlands. You will also design a forest stewardship plan framework for your woods. We encourage you to share your newfound knowledge with others.
Begin by clicking on the Announcements for new information. It is located in the left-hand sidebar. After reading the announcements, go into Modules, also located in the left-hand sidebar. You will do most of your navigating through the modules. Within Modules, you will need to read the Orientation section first. This will take you through system requirements, the course structure, and the first steps you need to take, such as the first Discussion Board question and the What Is Forestry? quiz. Please be sure to read through the Orientation module first. Its content serves as a prerequisite for the main course content. Additionally, the main course content remains locked until the course officially begins in September. There is also a Calendar located in the left red sidebar with due dates noted.
Feel free to contact Andrew Kling if you have any questions or concerns. He can be reached by phone at 301-432-2767 ext. 307 or, better still, by email at akling1@umd.edu.
Now, it's time to get started. We hope you enjoy the course.
