This outcome assesses COSI’s level of proficiency in creating learning experiences for students that promote their understandings of identity, power and privilege and how these concepts are shaped by social beliefs, social institutions and historical formations within the context of higher education and the larger society.

Prior to the unfortunate closure of campus, I had planned 3 events related to Women's History Month. The main event I was working on (and the only one that came to fruition) was the Women's History Month Mixer I hosted. Looking at the initial programming schedule, I had noticed that there was no event that was specifically targeted towards trans or queer women, or non-binary/gender non-conforming folks who identified as femme-of-center. This gap was important for me to fill, especially for the trans women and people who are often excluded from such spaces, so we put together a mixer for LGBTQ+ folks to come together and celebrate their histories and futures for WHM.

The event was the last Tuesday before break (aka the day the emails about school closure came out), so we didn't have the full house the RSVP sheet suggested, but there was a great turnout! We looked at the art in the Stamp Gallery (our gracious wonderful hosts), ate food, talked, and listened to music by queer and trans women. We got lots of positive feedback about the event, and many people expressed interest in similar events in the future. Overall lots of warm fuzzies.

Collin and I have been working with My-Asia and Janai on the World AIDS Day series of events. It has been absolutely wonderful to be able to contribute to and work on an event that deals with a topic I care so strongly about. Not only that, but I have loved exploring the cross-cultural aspect of the event, and being able to work with people I normally don't. Beyond planning and outreach, I am looking forward to being able to help set up/assist at the actual events, and contribute in a more tangible sense, as well. I am very excited to see how everything turns out!

I have also opened up communication with Yani Imani, the co- Artistic Director of the Kreativity Diversity Troupe. They are a student run, all-inclusive performing arts group that emphasizes diversity in their members and the content they create. They host multiple open mic nights, and have an amazing final production at the end of each semester. This final production is multimedia and all original- spoken word, songs, dance, skits/one acts, all based around a certain semester theme. This semester's theme of resilience resulted in some very poignant pieces, that very much apply to some of our programming.

They are very open to and excited about partnering with us! They have been around since 1995, and routinely make great original work. Apparently they've been having issues with turnout, so at the very least they would benefit from social media promotions. Yani was very enthusiastic in participating in "Getting Cozy with the COSIs" and is very open to contributing to future events. I think this is going to be a very promising partnership, and will happily maintain contact with them to see how we can help them/what future programming we can create together.
