This outcome assessed the extent to which a COSI has demonstrated an understanding about how to foster a healthy and fulfilling life for themselves and other students through their positions in MICA. This outcome was based on the Wellness Model which focuses on six dimensions of development which are as follows: Physical, emotional, Spiritual, Social, Intellectual and Occupational.

 

Self-Care in a Pandemic

Given the current situation, it has been a very overwhelming time for me. All of my classes are online and it has been difficult managing them because there isn't a transition period between classes. However, I have implemented time in my schedule to do things that I enjoy. For example, I try to go on a run for at least 20 minutes every day. I also choose to disconnect temporarily (zoom fatigue is real) during the day. During the weekend, I try to not respond to emails that are not urgent matters. Also, I talk to friends on a regular basis to have that social interaction that I would typically have if I was living on campus. There are a lot of self-care resources and tips on social media, so I have been saving those posts so I can refer to them when I need to.
